Lehner commented that Khufu built on the edge of the plateau to 'make room' for his successors. Lightbody, citing Legon, argued for a Pi relation in the circuit of the rectangle defined by the NE corner of Khufu and the SW corner of Menkaure. This measures approximately root three to root two (X 1000 cubits).

Legon's analyses are more rigorous and explain the geometric positioning of Khafre. And Khufu has every indication of having been developed from a fundamental numerical and geometrical blueprint, eg. KC floor level, root 2 of height.

However, there are also certain 'niceties' which cannot be ignored. For example, the vertical heights and sloping lengths of the upper passages were set out in whole numbers of cubits with surprising precision. So the SEKED was not used here.

Yet Chris is right, the 'blueprint' for these passages is surely the diagonal of the double square, but subsequently modified. Meanwhile Mark has extracted a variety of subtle relations in the design of Khufu.
