In the 19th century, Petrie and others proposed that the perimeter at the base of the
pyramid of Khufu was equated to a circumference, calculated as twice the height
multiplied by the ratio 22 : 7 ...
Such an assumption was dismissed by several scholars in the last century, who
attributed the supposed equivalence to a distorted definition of the relationship
between height and base side in pyramids with a seqed of 5½ palms.
