Apart from a brief mention of Baldwin I [en.wikipedia.org] (father of Baldwin II, [en.wikipedia.org], who at one point gave temporary lodging to the Knights Templar), I couldn't find any mention of, or reference to, the Knights Templar themselves - [en.wikipedia.org] - in this ...

The story concerns the looting of the Second Temple -[en.wikipedia.org] - by the Romans, the implication being that the looted treasures eventually found their way to the Vatican.

Unfortunately, there's no mention of the Ark of the Covenant, either ... or the Cherubim ... A great shame, as otherwise the whole thing would have had the makings of another (lucrative) Dan Brown novel.
